Fan Tan, also known as Fannie Tan, Fan Tan, Fannie Tan, or Fan Funn and is also known under the term bean counting. It is an old Chinese gambling strategy game where players guess the amount of beans in the jar. While there are some similarities between Fan Tan, Bean counting, it is a game with its own rules.
The origin of fan-tan's origins is a mystery. Some say the game's beginnings can be traced back to Korea and China, while others say it is an American creation. The game begins with both teams standing front of ten numbered wooden bowls that are hollowed. Each team has ten players which represent the hands of each player. Each player receives five cards to represent himself or herself. Each of the cards have numbers on them, which determine the hand that each participant has been dealt. After all players have been dealt, the blinds are opened and players are then asked to place their hands in the bowls.
The dealer then gives each participant a single bean and asks players to guess the number by touching it with only one hand. If their guesses are in line then they have a hand and the other team has to determine the next card, and repeat the process. The last card is revealed , and this will reveal the hand the other team holds and the process continues until someone has it right. The game ends when all cards are dealt. The winner gets the prize.
Fan Tan requires a lot skill and strategy. It takes a lot expertise to determine the hand selection, bean counting and betting strategy.
